Insurance and Financing

Insurance and Financing at Ocean Drive Dermatology

Ocean Drive Dermatology accepts most major commercial insurances, including Florida Blue, United, and Cigna, as well as Medicare and Tricare. We simply collect your copay at the time of your visit and then bill your insurance company like any other dermatology practice. We may collect a deductible and coinsurance at the time of service as well.

Any remaining balances after your insurance processes the claim will be billed to you.

Third Party Options

Self Pay or Third-Party Financing

For those without insurance, we offer reasonable self-pay rates for office and telemedicine visits and procedures, including skin cancer excisions, Mohs, Kenalog injections, cryotherapy, allergy patch testing, and photodynamic therapy (Blue Light Therapy).

Itemized billing for these types of procedures will be offered to patients prior to any interventions. Ocean Drive Dermatology also offers financing via Care Credit and Alphaeon for cash-priced procedures, including fillers, neurotoxins, non-surgical body contouring, and laser treatments. If approved, typically, this financing allows for interest-free payments over a defined period.

Personalized Approach

A Personalized Approach to Care

We believe in the specialization of medical practice, especially when it comes to the physical health of your skin.

For all of our tissue specimens, we utilize Surgical Pathology Laboratories (SPL). SPL is a group of skin-centered, fellowship-trained dermatopathologists that evaluate all of our tissue specimens. This includes everything from skin biopsy specimens to melanoma excisions and Mohs procedures. All of our patients will receive the added benefit of a fellowship-trained skin-specialized pathologist reviewing their specimens.

For advanced skin cancers, including malignant melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, sentinel lymph node biopsies, and reconstruction, both Dr. Durkin and Dr. Chim utilize Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and The Advanced Center for Surgery. This allows our patients to receive advanced surgical care without the need to refer to another specialist. We take sincere pride in our ability to offer the latest treatments, both medical and surgical, for malignant melanoma patients. The treatment of melanoma has always been a professional passion of Dr. Durkin’s, and we are proud to be the only regional center on the Treasure Coast that offers comprehensive care for this unfortunate but lethal disease process.
